Choosing the Right Recliner Tray Table

By Repoza Living · April 15, 2025 · 3 min read

A tray table turns your recliner into a dining, working, or reading station. Here is how to pick the right one.

C-shaped vs. swivel

C-shaped trays slide under the recliner base and curve over the arm. They are stable and always in reach. Swivel tables have a base that sits beside the recliner and a tray that rotates in and out of position. Both work well; choose based on your room layout.

Height matters

The tray surface should be level with or slightly above your recliner armrest. Measure from the floor to your armrest before ordering. Most quality trays are adjustable.

Material and weight

Steel frames are sturdier than aluminum. Look for a base heavy enough to prevent tipping when the tray is loaded with a plate and a drink. A powder-coated finish resists scratches.

The right tray table makes your recliner the most versatile seat in the house.
